Social Media Policy

Who does this policy apply to?

This policy applies to all stakeholders, staff, customers, partner organisations and students.

Our Social Media Policy

At Peer2Peer Education, we actively support the privacy and dignity of all our stakeholders.

Peer2Peer Education works in developing and emerging economies, where access to education, jobs, and healthcare help individuals and families improve their quality of life.

Peer2Peer Education does not engage in any marketing, publicity or advertising of our services that identify students or potential students as having experienced poverty, exploitation or any other personal experience of a sensitive nature.

Peer2Peer Education does not use social media accounts for business marketing, social media marketing or promotion.

Marketing and  Social Media

At Peer2Peer Education, we take the privacy of the individuals we work with, the businesses we work with and the communities we work with seriously.

Out of respect for the privacy, and dignity of those we work with,  we do not use stories or experiences of individual students or participants in education programs for social marketing, advertising or publicity.

Our approach includes but is not limited to:

  •  Social media that uses photographs of staff, students or businesses to promote a service
  •  Newspapers or any form of  electronic media
  •  Organisational newsletters

Taking and using photographs

We request our staff do not take photographs of students or businesses in any form for any type of social media or social media application for personal use, set out in the Code of Ethical Conduct.

We understand that students may from time to time request photographs of themselves or others in an educational environment, and we respect the right of students to choose to take photos of themselves or others in this way, and to posts and tag those photos on social media.

Photographs, audio or video recording of educational activities

Peer2Peer Education staff may be required to document attendance at training sessions through photographs, audio or video. This is for a record of evidence for completion of activities for the Australian Skills Quality Authority and for our partner Registered Training Organisations.

Participants are asked to give consent for the image, video recording or audio to be collected, and informed on how it will be used and stored. As part of enrolling with Peer2Peer Education and with our partner organisations, we explain our privacy policy, our social media policy and what giving informed consent to record, collect and store personal or identifying information means.
